Sugar-Free Keto Maple Syrup
Ingredients
2/3 c. Swerve, brown
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 c. filtered water
1/4 tsp pure vanilla or maple extract
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine Swerve, xanthan gum and sea salt.
In a small saucepan using low-medium/low heat, bring water to a light simmer. While stirring, slowly sprinkle in the Swerve blend a teaspoon at a time into the water. The syrup will thicken as it cooks. Continue simmering over low heat until the sugar has fully dissolved. Do not let the mixture to come above a very light simmer. If the xanthan gum begins to foam or bubble, quickly remove from heat, reduce cooking temp, and stir well before returning to the buner.
Remove from heat.
Add in vanilla or maple extract.
Cool and enjoy.
This will keep for 1-2 months at room temperature in a sealed container. It will keep longer if stored in the refrigerator. If syrup crystallizes, simply reheat until the syrup becomes clear and smooth again.
