About Us
What is Functional Medicine?
I am going to guess that you haven’t felt good for a while now. Maybe for a really long time. You have seen multiple doctors, tried medications, have had a bunch of lab work done as well as other tests and procedures. Despite all of this, you have been told “everything looks good”. Maybe you have heard “it is just stress”, “it is all in your head”, or “it comes with getting older”. Right? Sound familiar? The problem is that you don’t feel good. It is not all in your head. You don’t want to take medication forever. You know things could be better. You know something is off, but you are not sure what it is, what to do or who to see next. You want answers, relief and improvement.
This is where I come in. I use a functional medicine approach to helping you find the answers and wellness you are looking for. Functional medicine looks for the root cause of your health issues and concerns by asking the question, Why? I consider your entire life story, history, and all your life events. You are one of a kind. So your personal story. So is your path to healing.
Instead of treating symptoms with a band-aid approach, I use a functional medicine, root-cause, whole-person approach. This means I use a combination of diet suggestions, lifestyle changes and nutritional supplement protocols specific for you, your needs and your Why.

Owner & Founder
Registered Nurse
Clinical Nutritionist
Certified Detox Specialist
I have always enjoyed nutrition and helping people. From little on, I felt called to be a nurse. Upon graduating high school that is exactly what I did. I went to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and received my Bachelor of Arts in Nursing and became a registered nurse. I enjoy being a nurse and find it very rewarding to help others. But my story doesn’t stop there.
In 2013 I started experiencing personal health issues for which conventional medicine wasn’t finding the answers. Despite seeing multiple providers, taking a variety of medications and having traditional lab work done, I wasn’t getting or feeling any better. It wasn’t until finding functional medicine that I discovered I had Celiac disease along with other food sensitivities and toxicity.
My personal health journey, combined with my love for nutrition and health, led me to pursue further education. As a result, in June of 2018 I completed a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. Every day I continue to seek out and learn new information. Along with my nutrition degree, I have become a Certified Toxicity & Detox Specialist because addressing the state of your gut and toxic load is so important and foundational to your health and healing. I believe addressing health at the cellular level is crucial to the overall well-being of the entire body. You need to fix the cell to get well!
With the knowledge and tools that my education has provided me, I have been able to treat the root causes of my health issues and to finally get better and feel better. I have learned first-hand what proper nutrition combined with True Cellular Detox and other therapeutic therapies could do for my health. While it took time and effort, I have my health back, and I have eliminated all my symptoms and issues that conventional medicine could not fix.
Now, the desire to help others feel their best has become my passion. The power of proper, personalized nutrition combined with other wellness strategies is life-changing! Whether you are someone looking for general nutrition advice or someone with a long list of health issues, I am here for you. By working together, we can get you feeling your best.
What To Expect
Nutrition is always at the heart of what I do and recommend. Learning how to eat, when to eat and what to eat to properly fuel and support your body is huge.
Nutrition, however, is only one piece of the overall puzzle to getting your health back, decreasing your symptoms and feeling your best. Imagine a 3-legged stool. If just one leg is broken, the stool doesn’t balance. What if two or all three legs are broken? They all need to be fixed for the stool to balance. Likewise, if we only address part of why you don’t feel good, you won’t fully get better. I consider the whole you. I want all of you functioning and feeling better.
I listen to you and your story. I review any and all information you provide me. Your lab work tells another story. I can use the labs you have or help you get new labs done.
Then I combine all the numbers and information and create a custom plan for you. This is your journey, not mine. But you have to be ready, because doing this halfway or only for a couple weeks is not going to cut it. You have to want it. You have to want to make changes. You will most likely need to follow a treatment protocol for a while if you truly want to balance the root causes of why you don’t feel good. But it is so worth it.
Are you ready to address your root causes?
Are you ready to feel your best?
